Our Story
Beginnings
Corsava was created by Founder and CEO, Anne Wager. When Anne began counseling students 18 years ago, she saw the need for a way to quickly engage with students and families while making the college process more fun and less overwhelming. Enter College Cards 101, a card game she developed to jump start discussions and create awareness about critical aspects of the college experience that drive student success, but are often overlooked in their college search process.
Anne watched as students’ eyes lit up when the cards came out. These cards provided a great icebreaker and encouraged students to open up and share their personal preferences. Other counselors shared stories about the unique ways they used the cards to get families on the same page, engage students who were initially uninspired, and transform meetings to discover what really mattered to students. Students shared their insights too, resulting in new cards, new categories, and new ways to discover their preferences for campus and educational culture, student resources, extracurricular activities and residential life.
As demand for the cards increased, Anne took the cards to the cloud to increase access. Launching the online version also allowed Corsava to build new tools, using the power of machine-learning to harness trustworthy data and feedback from counselors, students, and parents to identify great fit schools where students can thrive and graduate.
Today, Corsava is used in school events and counselor workshops, highlighted at conferences, and incorporated into the curriculums of professional development and certifications courses. Widely adopted by independent educational consultants and schools worldwide, Corsava has helped thousands of students begin their college search on a positive note…..Anne’s goal all along.
